polemius commented: Pt 2: Seeing that Cutting Queen and the correspondent, if not the same person, are obviously in sympathy (see the comment support the correspondent; the poor grammar and lower case are CQ's) with the condemning attack on my comments. If the correspondent approves of putting adolescents through pain, then he is free to continue to support CQ, and, either respond to or ignore my ripostes. These people's desire to see boys suffer is beyond my comprehension.

As someone who has lived and worked in the West Bank, and who is an expert in Islamic politics, I can assure the correspondent that adolescent circumcision exists in Islam, and that circumcision is not a universal Muslim practice. Some cultures circumcise adolescents (kindly see Thesiger). As to Christians, demographic studies tend not to include Westerners who live in Israel; might this boy be the son of a minister?

I lived in Israel for 5 years, and: (1) Muslim boys are always circumcised, and usually very young, way before adolescence. (2) There aren't "many" Christians left in Israel, and very few Buddhists and others. And in any case, the Christians often get circumcised too (as they do in the USA). But the bigger point is, can we have a rest from all this hostility about circumcision? It has become very tedious!

polemius commented: Once again, Cutting Queen, Monarch of Ignorance. "Boys in Israel," are not "Supposed" to be circumcised. Jewish boys are circumcised, and often Muslim boys (when they're adolescent; Cutting Queen ought to love that because it causes a boy pain and Cutting Queen hates boys). The many Christian, Buddhist, Beb'ullah and other boys do not get circumcised.
